Royal Enfield has finally revealed the asking price for the Shotgun 650, its latest middleweight bike. It sits with the Interceptor 650, Continental GT, and the Super Meteor 650. We have already tested it, and here are a few things you need to know before purchasing the Shotgun 650.
What are the specifications and fuel economy of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650?
Powering the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled motor. It makes 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. During the BikeWale fuel efficiency test, the Shotgun 650 returned 23.72kmpl, which is a decent figure for a bike with a 650cc motor. If you pair the aforementioned fuel efficiency with the Shotgun’s 13.8-litre fuel tank, then the expected range can be around 330km.
We rode the bike in mixed traffic conditions, which consisted mild congestion in the city and open highways at times. The overall range could vary as per your riding style and the traffic conditions.
What are the colour options available for the new Shotgun 650?
Royal Enfield is offering the Shotgun 650 with four different paint schemes. These include Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill, and Sheetmetal Grey. All four colours come with different painted accents for a contrasting effect.
What are the variants, prices, and rivals of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650?
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is available in three different variants – Custom Shed, Custom Pro, and Custom Special. The asking price for the Shed and Pro models is Rs. 3,59,420 and Rs. 3,70,138 (both ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. And the Special trim is priced at Rs. 3,73,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Royal Enfield bike has no direct rivals in its category but the closest you could compare it in terms of engine displacement is the Kawasaki Vulcan S, which costs notably more.
