- Looks near production ready
- Gets a split seat setup and twin pod instrument console
- Likely to be launched early next year
After its recent sighting earlier this month, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has now been spotted testing again in the southern region of the country. This time two test mules have been seen and appear closer to the production stage.
The upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will borrow the 650cc twin-cylinder motor from the current Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It’s likely to be tuned the same and boast similar output figures as the current 650 twins – 47bhp and 52Nm.
As seen in these spyshots, the test mule is equipped with split seats, a crash guard, and auxiliary lights. It also gets a twin-pod instrument cluster and halogen bulbs at the rear. Suspension duties are being done by USD front forks and dual rear springs. The test bike is rolling on alloy wheels and gets a single disc at both ends. We believe the manufacturer would offer more alloy designs in its catalogue once the bike’s launched.
Royal Enfield is likely to launch the Shotgun 650 in India early next year. That said, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 too was spotted recently and is set to make its debut very soon.
