- Spotted testing with accessories
- Looks ready for production
- India launch could be scheduled for early 2023
Royal Enfield is gradually expanding its stable with four launches every year. From the many test mules that have made numerous appearances lately, the Shotgun 650 test bike has been spotted again. Here’s what it looks like.
Compared to the previously spotted models, the latest spy shots reveal that the test bike is equipped with a couple of accessories like the crash guard and a Tripper Navigation. Meanwhile, the overall design remains largely unchanged. It’s equipped with an LED headlight flanked by bulb indicators, a split seat setup with grab rails, and all blacked-out panels.
Royal Enfield will use the same motor in the Shotgun 650 as it currently does for the Interceptor 650 as well as the Continental GT 650. That said, the Shotgun’s engine tune can be different than its siblings. The 648cc parallel-twin air/oil-cooled motor belts out 47 bhp and 52 Nm in its current setup. It's mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Considering the Shotgun 650 could cost a premium, Royal Enfiled will equip it with USD front forks and dual rear shocks. Its braking hardware includes a single disc at both ends with ABS. The setup is mounted on alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres. The previously spotted test mules indicate that the bike could also get a list of accessories like auxiliary lights, alloys, backrests, and more.
The test mules look ready for production and we expect Royal Enfield to make an official announcement very soon. The Shotgun 650 will be one of the most expensive bikes on the brand’s roster for a while.
