- Official launch to take place early next year
- Prices might vary as per the colour option
- Motoverse edition was pegged at Rs. 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom)
Royal Enfield has finally taken the wraps off the production version of the Shotgun 650 after introducing its special Motoverse edition last month. The official global launch of the bike will take place early next year. However, the company has already shared all the details about the bike, including the colour options it will be available in.
The Shotgun 650 will be available in four colour schemes – Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheetmetal Grey, and Stencil Whilte. The boldest of the lot is the latter which boasts white fuel tank, underseat panels, and rear fender with funky graphics on the tank. And the most stealthy-looking is the Sheetmetal Grey trim which features dark grey panels and looks quite understated with an all-black hardware package. Although Royal Enfield hasn’t revealed the prices of the bike, we believe they will vary depending on the paint scheme.
Powering the Shotgun 650 is the same 648cc, air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine that does duty on other 650s in RE’s line-up. It churns out 46.40bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. As for the hardware, it rides on an 18-17-inch alloy wheel combination that is suspended by Showa USD forks and twin springs while braking is handled by a 320mm disc up front and 300mm rotor at the rear.
The Shotgun also comes equipped with all the modern features that are a part of RE’s eco-system including a Tripper navigation, full-LED lighting system, a USB charging port, and Wingman app support that facilitates the rider with the bike’s live location, fuel and engine oil level, service reminder, and more.
