- Will be powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled motor
- Features LED illumination, dual pea-shooter exhaust, and more
- To be launched in India in mid-January
Royal Enfield is set to launch the Shotgun 650 in India in mid-January. This will be Royal Enfield's fourth bike on its 650cc platform and is likely to be priced below the Super Meteor 650. For reference, the latter is priced at Rs. 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
The Shotgun 650 was officially unveiled a while back and it, too, features thorough bobber styling with old-school elements. The bike gets a round headlight, bullet-style turn indicators, dual pea-shooter exhaust, and a single-piece seat. That said, the Shotgun 650 also gets a dash of modern elements like full LED illumination, side-stand cut-off, and a semi-digital instrument console, which is similar to that of the Super Meteor 650.
Powering the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled motor. It makes 46.40bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The bike rides on USD front forks and dual rear shocks. Its braking hardware includes a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS. These are mounted on a 100/90-18 tyre up front and a 150/70 R17 tyre setup. Royal Enfield has equipped the Shotgun 650 with a 13.8-litre fuel tank and it weighs 240kg.
The Shotgun 650 will be offered in four paint schemes – Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheetmetal Grey, and Stencil white. Once launched, it will rival the Jawa 42 Bobber.
