- Factory custom version of the Super Meteor 650
- India launch in January 2024
- Likely to be priced around Rs. 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom)
Royal Enfield has officially unveiled the production version of the Shotgun 650 for the global markets, after showcasing the custom-painted Motoverse Edition in late November. The motorcycle is yet to be launched in India, and we expect it to go on sale in the country by mid-January 2024.
According to Royal Enfield, the Shotgun 650 is a factory-custom bobber, based on the Super Meteor 650, but features a slightly different design and revised ergonomics. In stock form, the Shotgun 650 will be available as a single-seater, but Royal Enfield will also sell an accessory seat to ride with a pillion. The Shotgun 650 will be available in four colours – Stencil White, Green Drill, Plasma Blue, and Sheetmetal Grey.
Powering the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is the tried and tested 648cc, oil-cooled, parallel-twin motor that makes 46.40bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. The engine will come paired with a six-speed gearbox, along with a slipper clutch as standard.
The motorcycle will ride on a 100/90-18 tyre up front and a 150/70 R17 tyre at the back, which will be wrapped on alloy wheels at both ends. Braking duties will be handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm disc at the back, while dual-channel ABS will be standard. The Shotgun 650 comes shod with Showa separate function USD forks up front and Showa twin shocks at the rear. The suspension travel stands at 120mm and 90mm, front and back respectively.
The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres, while the kerb weight stands at 240kg, which is a kilogram lighter than the Super Meteor 650. When launched, we expect the Shotgun 650 to be priced around Rs. 3.80 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
