- KX Concept showcased in Thailand
- Gets a 883cc V-Twin engine
Royal Enfield unveiled the KX Concept, an 883cc Bobber at the 2019 Bangkok Motor Show. This concept bike was first showcased to the world at the 2018 EICMA Show in Italy.
The Chennai-based manufacturer had said earlier that the KX concept is just their design imagination and there are no plans for this bike to go into production. But we believe, the KX will find its way to the production line in the next few years.
The main reason the KX concept was showcased in Thailand was to gauge everyone’s reaction which is the usual idea of a concept model. We believe this Royal Enfield concept will travel to a few more countries before Royal Enfield freezes on the design and engineering aspects of the bike.
The design and mechanical inspiration for this bike has come from the Royal Enfield KX, a motorcycle that dates back to 1938. This bike was the company’s flagship model then and was powered by a 1140cc V-Twin motor that is mated to a four-speed gearbox. However, the KX Concept bike gets an 838cc V-Twin engine but there are no details on the power figures.
