Royal Enfield sold 27,542 motorcycles overall in the last month, while they had sold 18,131 units in November 2013. This accounts for a boost in sales by 52 per cent in both- domestic wholesale and exports in November 2014.
The company sold 27,198 motorcycles in the country in November 2014 while they had sold 17,752 units in the same month last year. This again shows a 53 per cent hike in domestic sales. The exports for last month stood at 344 units when they were 379 in the same period in 2013. The overall year-on-year sales report also shows a 73 per cent of increase in sales as 2,73,957 units were sold in 2014 as against 1,58,808 units in 2013. Out of these, 2,68,191 motorcycles were sold within the country while 5,766 were exported this year.
The demand for Royal Enfield motorcycles has increased not just in India but overseas as well. This has helped the manufacturer to continue to record good sales numbers and it eventually also plans to become a leader in the global mid-sized motorcycling segment. The Royal Enfield Continental GT, also popularly known as the cafe racer motorcycle, was launched last year and has created quite a sensation ever since then. The company has been taking this bike to different places and it was recently launched at the Colombia Motorshow 2014 in Bogota, Columbia.
