- Social media post reveals three names
- To be unveiled on 8 November
- Indian launch likely at 2022 Royal Enfield Rider Mania
Royal Enfield has released another teaser image of its upcoming middleweight motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650. This time, the caption of the social media posts reveals three names – Astral, Celestial, and Interstellar. Do note that the two-wheeler manufacturer uses a similar strategy for its Meteor 350 and the differences between the variants range from colours to accessories. We expect to see a similar strategy for the upcoming Super Meteor 650.
Thus, the base version will most likely come with a single-tone paint job while the higher variants will feature a dual-tone colour scheme. The mid-spec model could receive a pillion backrest as standard while the top variant will most likely come equipped with a windscreen and the Tripper Navigation System. The company will also offer a wide range of accessories with this motorcycle, some of which were recently revealed through spy images.
Meanwhile, all variants are expected to pack identical hardware. The spy images have revealed that the upcoming Super Meteor 650 will get upside-down front forks and twin rear springs to handle the suspension tasks. The braking setup will include single disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net will comprise dual-channel ABS.
The Super Meteor 650 will most definitely get the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine that also powers the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor should make the same 47bhp and 51Nm of peak torque as the existing 650 Twins.
Royal Enfield has confirmed that this motorcycle will be unveiled at the upcoming EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy on 8 November, 2022. The Indian launch should take place soon after its debut. In fact, we expect it to be launched in the Indian market at the 2022 Royal Enfield Rider Mania event in Goa which is scheduled between 18 and 20 November, 2022.
