- Bookings open for 2022 Rider Mania visitors
- To be sold in two variants
- Gets LED headlight and Tripper Navigation system
Royal Enfield has showcased the Super Meteor 650 at the 2022 Rider Mania in Goa ahead of its Indian launch. The Chennai-based manufacturer has only showcased the motorcycle, and its prices will be announced in the coming weeks. However, the bookings are open exclusively to the visitors of 2022 Rider Mania. The motorcycle debuted at the 2022 EICMA in Milan, Italy and it is expected to be launched in the Indian market in early 2023.
This new 650cc cruiser motorcycle is based on the same platform as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Thus, the mechanical specifications retain the same 648cc, parallel-twin motor as the Interceptor and Continental GT. While the power output of the Super Meteor 650 is marginally lower at 46.2bhp, the torque output remains unchanged at 52Nm.
Meanwhile, this model gets several changes over the existing 650cc motorcycles in the form of an LED headlight, alloy wheels with tubeless tyres on both ends, Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation system, and upside-down front forks. Royal Enfield will offer the Super Meteor 650 in two variants – Standard and Tourer. Both variants can be distinguished through their respective colour options and accessories.
Once launched, the new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 will rival the likes of the Kawasaki Vulcan S and the Benelli 502C.
