Royal Enfield has showcased its newest 650cc motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650 at the 2022 Rider Mania in Goa, India. Apart from showcasing the Super Meteor 650, the Chennai-based manufacturer also announced the colourways for this cruiser motorcycle that would be sold in our market.
As showcased at the 2022 EICMA, this motorcycle will be offered in two variants – Standard and Tourer. The standard version will be available in five colour options – Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Grey, and Interstellar Green. Meanwhile, the Super Meteor 650 Tourer will be sold in two paint options – Celestial Red and Celestial Blue. Further, Royal Enfield has announced that the pre-launch bookings for the Super Meteor 650 are now open exclusively for registered Rider Mania participants.
The new 650cc cruiser motorcycle from Royal Enfield is based on the same platform as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Thus, the Super Meteor 650 uses the same 648cc, parallel-twin motor as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to produce 46.2bhp and 52Nm of peak torque.
The Indian launch details have not been announced yet. However, with the pre-launch bookings open, we expect Royal Enfield to introduce this motorcycle in our market very soon. Once launched, the new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 will rival the likes of the Kawasaki Vulcan S and the Benelli 502C.
