Royal Enfield finally launched the Super Meteor 650 in India. It marks the third middleweight and the most expensive bike from the brand in India with an asking price of Rs 3,48,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base model. But if you are looking for other options in the same price range, this list is for you.
The Keeway Vieste 300 is priced at Rs 3,20,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is one of the few affordable maxi-scooters available in India. It gets a sharp design with cuts and creases in the bodywork. The Vieste is quite youthful and is powered by a 278.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that develops 18.4bhp and 22Nm. Apart from LED illumination, the Vieste 300 gets an LCD flanked by twin analog dials. It rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks whereas the braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc with ABS. If you are looking for a thorough maxi-scooter in this range, the Vieste 300 is a handy option.
With an asking price of Rs 3,25,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Zontes 350R has also made it to the list. Compared to the Super Meteor 650, the 350R gets a polar opposite design, styling, and ergonomics. It features a streetfighter bodywork with aggressive cues all over, which is what a younger buyer would prefer. The Zontes 350R is powered by a 348cc single-cylinder motor making 38.2bhp and 32.8Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 350R gets LED illumination, keyless operation, LCD with a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), and other essential readouts. If you are out for a swanky-looking bike, then the 350R could be an option.
The KTM 390 Adventure has been around for a few years now and received minor updates as well. The latest iteration costs Rs 3,37,043 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s powered by a 373.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor that belts 42.3bhp and 37Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 390 Adventure benefits from a slip-and-assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter too. It packs other features like traction control, supermoto ABS, LED illumination, smartphone connectivity, and a TFT display. KTM has suspended the 390 Adventure on USD front forks and a monoshock while the braking is taken care by a single front and rear disc.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is one of the oldest bikes on the roster. It has been around for a long time and received small, cosmetic updates over the year. The Japanese supersport draws power from a parallel-twin 296cc motor that develops 38.88 bhp and 26.1 Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Ninja 300 offers an engaging riding experience and is oriented towards younger buyers. It gets telescopic front forks, monoshock, and a single disc at both ends.
Last but not least, the Zontes 350T is also an alternative to the Super Meteor in terms of pricing. It costs 3,47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and features ADV styling with butch bodywork. The 350T’s overall bodywork is quite modern as its gets an LED headlight topped by a transparent visor and a beak below. The 350T draws power from a 348cc motor that makes 38.2 bhp and 32.8 Nm.
