Royal Enfield will launch the Thunderbird 350X and 500X in the Indian market in a couple of days. However, the brochure of both bikes has been leaked, confirming details of the upcoming motorcycles.
The bikes seem to be based on the standard Thunderbird range albeit with a few revisions to make them appealing to a younger audience. According to the brochure, the bikes are equipped with alloy wheels, a revised single-piece seat, along with a shorter handlebar and grab rail. To boost its appeal, the bikes also sport a blacked-out exhaust, front fork bottles and engine.
The leaked details also reveal that the bikes are mechanically similar to their standard counterparts. Powering the Thunderbird 350X is a single cylinder, 350cc engine that produces 19.8bhp and 28Nm via a five-speed transmission. On the other hand, the Thunderbird 500X Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X is powered by a 500 cc single cylinder engine that delivers 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm. It is also mated to a five-speed transmission.
Royal Enfield will initially offer the 350X in white and red colours and the 500X in orange and blue paint schemes. While we expect the Thunderbird 350X to cost an additional Rs 10,000- Rs 12,000; the Thunderbird 500X could be priced at a premium of Rs 15,000 over the standard bike.
