Royal Enfield has launched the Thunderbird 500X ABS in India. The bike has been priced at Rs 2.13 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai), with on-road price hovering around Rs 2.60 lakhs.
The non-ABS version of the Thunderbird 500X has been discontinued. Now with the ABS variant, the Thunderbird 500X has got pricier by Rs 15,000.
The Thunderbird 500X is a fancier version of the Thunderbird 500. It gets brighter colours, along with blacked out 9-spoke alloy wheels with colour co-ordinated rim tapes that is shod with tubeless tyres. Apart from the alloys, the exhaust, engine, suspension, headlamp cowl and other components are finished in matte black. It is now equipped with smoked reflector on the headlamp. The Thunderbird 500X gets short handlebars and grab rails.
The 500cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine features a fuel-injection system and delivers 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. It is mated to a five-speed transmission. The Thunderbird 500X gets disc brakes at both ends. The front wheel gets a 280mm disc while the rear wheel gets 240mm disc.
