Royal Enfield launched the Thunderbird 500X in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 1.98 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). If you are on a similar budget and are looking for bikes other than the Thunderbird 500X, the market offers three motorcycles. We list down what else you can buy at the price of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X.
The Thunderbird 500X is sure to attract eyeballs thanks to its funky colours, but if you prefer something slightly subtle, you can opt for the standard Thunderbird 500. The bike sports chrome finished components, a pull-back handlebar, split seats with a pillion back rest and spoke wheels. Powering the bike is the same motor used in the Thunderbird 500X. This unit is a 499cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque via a five-speed gearbox. It is priced at Rs 1.91 lakhs.
In a similar body style as the Thunderbird 500, there is the UM Renegade Classic priced at Rs 1.98 lakhs. As its name suggests, the bike sports a retro appeal. It gets oodles of chrome all around and features panniers, a large removable windshield, USB charging port as standard to boost its touring character. It uses a 279cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that also gets a fuel-injection system unlike the Thunderbird 500X. This engine produces 25bhp and 23Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
If you have an inclination towards speed, you could opt for the TVS Apache RR310. The fully-faired bike gets sharp lines running all-through the bodywork. The twin LED projector headlamps and the shark fin-like LED tail lamp boost its aggressive stance. However, the Apache RR310 gets slightly higher set clip-on handlebars to make the bike touring friendly. At the heart of the bike is a 310cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This engine produces 34bhp and 27Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. You could get your hands on the TVS Apache RR 310 for a price of Rs 2.15 lakhs.
All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
