- Trademark applications have been filed in the USA and Europe
- A stylised ‘TBX badge has also been trademarked in Europe
Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer, Royal Enfield is reportedly working on expanding its product portfolio in the international market. We say that because the company has filed trademark applications for its modern-styled Thunderbird X model in the USA and Europe.
The company had launched the Thunderbird X in India last year. Taking design cues from the standard Thunderbird model, the Thunderbird X offers a blacked out look instead of chrome highlights and black alloy wheels instead of spoke ones. Currently, Royal Enfield exports the Thunderbird X only to Colombia, where it is called TBX. Similarly, the company has applied to use the name ‘Royal Enfield TB-X’ for USA and Europe as Triumph Motorcycle has rights to the moniker, Thunderbird, in these markets. The company has also trademarked a styled ‘TBX’ badge in Europe which could be used as the logo on the fuel tank and also for bike components.
