Royal Enfield updated models for 2016 leaked

Royal Enfield will soon refresh their product line-up with updates to their existing motorcycles. This 2016 model year update comes in the form of some cosmetic revisions with the addition of new colours to specific models.

Thunderbird 350 and 500

The highway cruiser siblings will be available in a new Asphalt (slate) colour apart from the current paint schemes. The front mud guard, fuel tank, side panels, rear mud guard are finished in this new greyish blue colour.

Classic 350

The Classic 350 will be offered in two new colours - chestnut and mint. The new paint can be seen on the fuel tank, side panels and mud guards, while the headlamp casing and front suspension cover tube are painted black. The rider and pillion seat on the Classic 350 in the chestnut red shade and will feature a new tan seat cover.

Classic 500

These retro street styled motorcycles will now be offered in three new colours - squadron blue, chrome graphite (athena grey) and chrome green (forest green). The Desert Storm motorcycle with its unique matte sand coloured paint scheme garnered quite a fan following and will continue to be offered. The new squadron blue model is also designed in the same way with this new colour on the frame, swing-arm and engine mounting brackets as well.

Bullet 500

The Bullet 500 was only offered in black and forest green, but will now get a new marsh grey colour option as well. The stickering on the fuel tank includes a new copper colour motif and new rexine seat cover to add to the appeal.

Electra 350

Apart from the existing colour options the Electra 350 is currently available in, the motorcycle will be available in maroon (marsala red) and blue (meridian blue). The seat gets a new rexine material, while the other chrome embellishments are carried over.

The manfacturer hasn't as yet confirmed any mechanical changes to these motorcycles. Royal Enfield had earlier confirmed that it is looking to expand its range of motorcycles apart from making some changes to their existing line-up. Two new models will be introduced by next year, both based on two new engine platforms. We can expect the Himalayan to be launched this year, followed by another model in 2017.
