- To debut with TT125
- Prices start at Rs 1.98 lakhs (ex-showroom)
- To start off with just one dealership in Pune
Scomadi, a boutique British scooter maker, has announced plans to enter the Indian market. The company will make its debut with the launch the Turismo Technica 125 by the end of May.
Scomadi was founded in 2009, though its operations were limited to rolling out hand-built scooters for the first few years. The company then moved on to mass producing scooters in 2013. Inspired by the Lambretta scooters from the yesteryears, the Scomadi range consists of niche modern classics. For its Indian venture, Scomadi has tied up with Pune-based AJ Performance. The latter will be taking care of sourcing the scooters from Thailand as CBUs as well as the after sales services. The Turismo Technica 125, or TT125, has already undergone homologation and has been certified to be sold in the Indian market.
Scomadi makes niche modern classics targeted at enthusiasts
Scomadi’s global lineup also consists of the Turismo Leggera and Turismo Technica range, both of which are available in 50cc, 125cc and 200cc capacities. In India, the brand plans to eventually introduce the TT200, depending upon the response for the TT125. Prices for the TT125 will start at a whopping Rs 1.98 lakhs (ex-showroom), although a Scomadi is hardly a product for those looking for a mainstream mode of transport.
