It has been a long while since the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 was showcased in global markets like Cambodia and Turkey, though the Pune-based manufacturer has so far refrained from revealing the motorcycle in India. Now though, it seems like the long wait for Bajaj’s first fully-faired motorcycle is finally coming to an end, as our sources have revealed that the Pulsar RS200 will be launched in India on March 27.
Earlier today, Bajaj released the first few pictures and a teaser video of the 200cc supersports motorcycle on its official social networking sites. These teasers, along with Bajaj’s official website have revealed that unlike what was speculated earlier, the motorcycle will be christened Pulsar RS200 for the Indian market.
The Pulsar RS200 is built around the tubular space frame from the Pulsar 200NS and is powered by the same 199.5cc single-cylinder triple spark engine. Mated to a six-speed transmission, this engine produces 23.2bhp and 18.3Nm of torque. ABS is expected to be offered as an optional extra. The Pulsar RS200 will rival other premium fully-faired 150cc motorcycles like the Yamaha YZF-R15 and the Honda CBR150 R.
Update: Bajaj is going to launch the Pulsar RS200 on March 26, and not on March 27 as previously stated. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
