The Indian two-wheeler market witnessed the arrival of several products in the scooters and motorcycles segment, including new and updated models. Here we list all the scooters that were launched in India in March 2023.
2023 Suzuki Access 125
Suzuki Motorcycle India updated its scooter range to comply with the OBD2-emission standards. The Onboard Diagnostics System helps in detecting system failures and illuminates the console lights. This is to indicate the rider in case any faults occur in the vehicle system. The mechanical specifications, on the other hand, remain unchanged, and the 2023 Suzuki Access 125 retains the 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that makes 8.5bhp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. The 2023 Suzuki Access 125 is available in four variants and the prices start from Rs. 79,400 onwards.
2023 Suzuki Burgman Street
The Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer also updated its maxi-scooter-style 125cc product, the Burgman Street, to comply with the newest emission norms. This scooter, similar to the 2023 Access 125, benefits from an OBD2-compliant engine and makes the same 8.5bhp and 10Nm as its 125cc sibling. The Burgman Street is available in three variants, and the prices range from Rs. 93,000 to Rs. 1.12 lakh.
2023 Suzuki Avenis 125
Suzuki Motorcycle India’s newest 125cc scooter, the Avenis 125, too, received the OBD2 upgrade. This product is available in two variants – Standard and Race Edition. The differences between the two are limited to styling changes in the form of colour themes, and the Race Edition benefits from a MotoGP-inspired livery. The prices for the Suzuki Avenis 125 start from Rs. 92,000, and this scooter rivals the likes of the TVS Ntorq and Yamaha RayZR in the Indian market.
2023 Honda Activa 125
After the Activa 6G, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has updated the Activa 125 to comply with the newest emission standards. Similar to the Activa 6G, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer has added the new H-Smart variant to the list, that benefits from keyless operations. With the new variant, the Honda Activa 125 is now available in four variants with prices starting from Rs. 78,920. The top-spec H-Smart version is available at Rs. 88,093.
2023 Bajaj Chetak Premium electric scooter
Bajaj Auto launched the 2023 Chetak Premium in India at Rs. 1,51,910 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The latest iteration of the electric scooter gets an updated instrument console and three new paint schemes for 2023. The console displays a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, selected riding modes (sport and eco), distance-to-empty readout, and smartphone connectivity. The Chetak electric scooter rivals the likes of the Ather 450X, HeroVida, and TVS iQube in the Indian market. The list of competitors will extend with the arrival of electric scooters from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India and Suzuki Motorcycle India.
