A semi-faired version of the quarter-litre Suzuki Inazuma GW250 motorcycle has been spotted at a gas station in Indonesia. The motorcycle was completely undisguised and except for the fairing, looks very similar to its naked sibling. The only other difference is that the semi-faired version sported silver alloy wheels, as opposed to the black wheels the naked version is offered with.
The spied motorcycle looks identical to the Suzuki GW250S, which the Japanese manufacturer had unveiled last year at the Shanghai Motor Show. The GW250S sported an upright windscreen and raised handlebars, which definitely aids its touring ability. While the shape of the headlamp is more or less the same, it is surrounded by a large fairing with integrated turn indicators.
The fairing extends only upto the fuel tank and the engine is completely exposed. The Inazuma is currently offered with a 248cc parallel twin engine, which churns out 24bhp and 22Nm of torque, though the concept shown at Shanghai produced 26bhpand 24.2Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki Inazuma GW250 was launched in India earlier this year, but its outrageous price tag meant that the motorcycle didn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing. However, Suzuki tried to make amends with the Indian buyer by offering a discount of Rs 1 lakh on the motorcycle and reimbursing those who already bought it. While the Inazuma is a brilliant all-rounder, the fact that it is imported as a completely built unit means that it still is more expensive than its rivals. While the Inazuma GW250S is sure to be another accomplished motorcycle, it will be difficult for it to make a mark here unless Suzuki starts the bike's production in India.
