Sherco TVS’ female rider Aishwarya Pissay is gearing up to compete in the Baja Aragon Rally 2019 which will be held from 7 to 9 March in Dubai. She will be competing in the international rally event along side her three team mates Adrien Metge and Michael Metge from France and Lorenzo Santolino from Spain. Before stepping into the competition, the riders will undergo a few days of training in the sand dunes of Dubai.
This will be Aishwarya’s second attempt in the Baja Aragon. She made her debut in this rally last year and became the first Indian female rider to do so. After successfully completing the first round on 77th position, she had to make her way out following a nasty crash after which she had to undergo surgery. With her second attempt in the Baja Aragon, the TVS rider is aiming to step into the world’s most challenging rally event – Dakar.
Aishwarya Pissay won a number of competitions in 2017 in India including Raid de Himalaya, Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), Dakshin Dire and TVS Apache Ladies One Make Championship. Meanwhile, Adrien and Michael Metge along with Lorenzo Sontolino have represented Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team in Dakar. In the Baja Aragon 2019, the riders will be competing astride the RTR 450 which is a rally-spec TVS motorcycle.
