Sherco TVS Factory Rally team has announced its rider line-up for its third year in the Dakar Rally. The team will be fielding three riders, Joan Pedrero, Adrien Metge and Aravind KP, and is aiming for a top 10 finish in this year.
All the riders will be competing on the Sherco TVS RTR450 rally bike. Joan Pedrero will be competing in the Dakar for the 10th time, while Adrien Metge has participated in the rally twice before. As for Aravind KP, this will be his second outing in the Dakar rally. Last year, Pedrero finished 13th overall while Metge came in 22nd. Aravind failed to finish the rally during his debut. This year, the Sherco TVS team has been hard at work preparing for the rally. Last month, Joan and Adrien scored the first two spots in the 2017 PanAfrica Rally, while Aravind came in 12th.
The Dakar rally is widely regarded as the toughest endurance race in the world. This year’s Dakar rally will be the 40th edition of the endurance race. Over this duration, the route will take competitors through some of the harshest of terrains over 9,000 kilometres and 15 days. It will be flagged off in Bolivia on 6 January and conclude in Argentina on 20 January.
