Simple Energy recently launched the Dot One electric scooter in India, priced at Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The Dot One is the more affordable version of the Simple One scooter and is available in four colour options. These are Namma Red, Grace White, Brazen Black, and Azure Blue.
Pre-bookings for the Simple Dot One are already open at Rs. 1,947. Deliveries of the electric scooter will commence shortly in Bengaluru followed by other cities in the months to come. Barring its specifications and range, the Dot One is similar to the flagship Simple One in terms of design.
The Simple Dot One offers a claimed IDC range of 160kms, which is quite impressive for the segment. This is courtesy of a 3.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack, while the scooter comes bundled with a 750W charger. Powering the scooter is an 8.5kW electric motor that generates a peak torque output of 72Nm. Meanwhile, Simple Energy claims that the Dot One can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 2.77 seconds.
The Simple Dot One rides on 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped on specially designed tyres that maximise the range, according to the company. The scooter comes loaded with features such as 35-litre under-seat storage, combined braking system, touchscreen instrument cluster, and smartphone connectivity.
