- Simple One deliveries to start soon
- Will launch production model today
- Expected to cost more than Rs 1.10 lakh
Simple Energy will finally launch the production model of its electric scooter – One, later in the day today. Post the launch, the deliveries are expected to commence from this month.
The Simple One has been under development for a long time now. While it officially debuted in 2021, the product wasn’t fully ready and had to undergo multiple changes. A few months ago, we tested the product once again. However, the scooter still had to be fully prepared for the market. It looks like the Bengaluru-based company will finally showcase the production-ready model today.
The company installed a 4.8kWh battery pack and a 4.5kW motor on the earlier prototypes we tested. This scooter also has the option to install a third battery that takes the overall riding range to 300 km. In terms of features, the scooter gets full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled colour TFT display, and four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. The hardware on the prototype version included telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, disc brakes on both ends and 12-inch alloys shod in 90/90 front and rear tyres.
In 2021, the company launched the product with a price tag of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). But we think a new price will be announced today, as many things have changed in two years, including FAME 2 incentives. Regarding competition, the Simple One will go against the Ather 450X and the Ola S1 Pro.
