Simple Energy has announced a new motor that is an upgrade to the already existing engine. The company said in its press statement that the motor can produce 72Nm of torque. The electric motor draws power from a 4.8kWh battery pack that is said to deliver a range of over 200km (in Eco mode) per full charge. In terms of performance, the 0-40kmph acceleration is said to take 2.85 seconds while the top speed is rated at 105kmph. Do note that these specifications are similar to the numbers that were shared previously.
Commenting about the update, Suhas Rajkumar, founder and CEO, Simple Energy, said that the company found room for further improvement of the motor. Simple Energy claims that the higher level of vertical integration allows the electric scooter to attain an efficiency of 96 per cent. The company also added in its press statement that there are additional upgrades and surprises that will be announced in the coming weeks.
The existing feature list includes full-LED lighting and four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. The instrument cluster is a seven-inch touchscreen unit with 4G and Bluetooth connectivity. The scooter also gets music and call control, navigation, vehicle tracking, a tyre pressure monitoring system, find-my-bike function, and geo-fencing.
The bookings for the Simple One are open on the company’s website for a token amount of Rs 1,947. The deliveries for the electric scooter will start from June 2022.
