- Deliveries likely to commence soon

Bangalore-based Simple Energy will finally launch its much-awaited Simple One electric scooter in the Indian market on 23 May, 2023. The production of this electric scooter has already commenced at the company’s Shoolagiri facility in Tamil Nadu, and Simple Energy has started rolling out this product from the factory. Notably, the company is yet to announce the details about the deliveries of its flagship product to customers.
To give you a quick recap, Simple Energy revealed the prototype version of this electric scooter in 2021. Back then, the company had installed a 4.8kWh battery pack and a 4.5kW motor. Later, it received a third battery pack option for an additional range. In fact, Simple Energy claims an impressive range of 300km from its flagship electric scooter.
Further, the prototype model packed a premium feature list that comprised full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled colour TFT display, and four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. The hardware on the prototype version included telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, disc brakes on both ends, and 12-inch alloys shod in 90/90 front and rear tyres. We expect to see all these features in the final version as well.
Simple Energy had announced an ex-showroom, Bengaluru price of Rs. 1.10 lakh for the electric scooter in 2021. However, the final prices may vary at the time of launch, which is scheduled on 23 May, 2023. Notably, the reported revisions to the FAME-II subsidies are likely to affect the prices further.
