Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has officially launched its first electric scooter in India, the Simple One, priced at Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The scooter is available in six colour options – Namma Red, Brazen Black, Azure Blue, Grace White, BrazenX, and LightX. While the former four are the standard paint schemes, the latter two are the new special edition options.
Specifications
The electric motor of the Simple One boasts a peak power output of 8.5kW and a continuous power output of 4.5kW, while the torque rating stands at 72Nm. Simple Energy claims that the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in just 2.77 seconds, and it has a top speed of 105kmph.
The electric scooter offers four ride modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. Gets a 5kWh battery pack that offers an IDC range of 212km. The scooter is equipped with both a fixed and a portable battery pack, with charging times of 3 hours and 47 minutes and 2 hours and 7 minutes, respectively, using a home charger.

The Simple One electric scooter comes equipped with features like full-LED lighting, a seven-inch TFT touchscreen display, Bluetooth and 4G LTE connectivity, parking assist, onboard maps, ride statistics, document storage, OTA updates, and call and music controls. For safety, the scooter is equipped with a combined braking system.
Delivery date and warranty
Deliveries will commence in a phased manner, beginning with Bengaluru. The company aims to establish a network of 160-180 retail stores in 40-50 cities, in the next 12 months. While the scooter is priced at Rs. 1.45 lakh, customers will have to purchase the 750W fast charger for an additional price of Rs. 13,000. Simple Energy provides a three-year/30,000km warranty for the vehicle, motor, and battery, while the charger is covered by a one-year/10,000km warranty.
