- Official launch date announced
- Features a sharp and youthful design
- Likely to get better range and performance over the previously unveiled model
Simple One has announced the launch date of its maiden electric scooter, the Simple One. Its debut is slated for 23 May, 2023 at its home turf in Bengaluru. While we could see slight changes to the production version that’s soon to be launched, here’s what we know about the Simple One so far.
What were the previous battery and motor configurations of the Simple One e-scooter?
The Bengaluru-based EV startup displayed a prototype model back in 2021, and it was equipped with a 4.8kWh battery pack and a 4.5kW motor. Later, the brand announced a third battery pack option for an additional range. Overall, it claimed the Simple One could offer around 300km of total range.
What hardware did Simple Energy equip its prototype scooter with?
The Simple One prototype was equipped with telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, its braking hardware comprised a single front and rear disc mounted on 12-inch alloys wrapped in 90/90 front and rear tyres. It also featured a massive 30-litre under-seat storage previously.
Did the prototype Simple One electric scooter get any nifty features?
Yes, the previously showcased model had a notable list of features. It included LED illumination, a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled TFT console, 2GB RAM, and four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. However, the setup was in the beta stage, and we expect the final product to be better put together.
What could be the Simple One’s asking price?
Simple Energy had previously quoted an asking price of Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). But it won’t be a surprise if the final model demands a premium over the previous asking price.
