Smartron, a Hyderabad-based tech company, has unveiled its first two-wheeler, the Tronx One. An electric crossover bike, the Tronx One retails at an introductory price of Rs 49,999.
The Tronx One is essentially a bicycle with an electric motor. It uses a 250W rear hub motor powered by a lightweight and detachable 36 V 13.6 Ah Lithium 500 W battery along. The electric motor can propel the Tronx One to up to 25kmph. It gets multiple ride modes with 3 gears for the electric powertrain and six gears when it is being ridden through pedals. On full charge, the Tronx One can be ridden for 50 kilometres with the throttle wide open, and up to 85 kilometres in the Assist mode.
The lightweight and rust-free frame is designed to make the Tronx One suitable for all kinds of riders, with focus on comfort and ease of use. The ergonomics can be adapted according to the rider’s stature. Smartron has pegged the Tronx One as a smart bike. It features a display loaded with tronXTM platform. Users can install an app on their phone and pair it up with the display, giving access to a slew of functionalities, like estimating range and setting fitness goals.
Smartron has started accepting bookings for the Tronx One, and deliveries will commence on July 16. It is available in two colours – red and blue.
