Soon to be launched KTM Duke 390 ABS spied in Pune

The KTM Duke 390 ABS has been once again spotted testing in Pune. This is the third time the motorcycle has been captured on camera in India. Once launched, it will be the first motorcycle in 350cc-400cc range to be sold officially in India. KTM has specially developed this motorcycle to bridge the gap between 200cc and 600cc –a category that is mainly targeted at developing markets like India.

The Duke 390 ABS will be manufactured from Bajaj’s Chakan Factory in Pune and exported globally – like the Duke 125 and the Duke 200.  The Duke 390 ABS has the capability to do 0-100kmph in 5 to 6 seconds and can attain a top speed of over 160kmph. The bike has an option to switch-off the ABS if you want to have some extra fun! But we don’t recommend that.

The machine is powered by a 373c single-cylinder engine that produces power of 44bhp at 9500rpm and 35Nm of torque at 7250rpm. The engine is mated to six-speed gearbox and has a dry weight of just 139kg, offering excellent power to weight ratio of 316bhp per tonne. We are expecting this machine to be priced aggressively at around Rs 2 lakh as it shares components with its younger sibling, the Duke 200.

Some Pro-Biking dealerships are already taking unofficial bookings for the Duke 390 and we are expecting the launch to happen in next few days.
