The details of the 2019 Yamaha MT-15 has been leaked online. This leaked transport department of New Delhi document reveals some technical details of this streetfighter. 

The MT-15 is based on the YZF-R15, so most of the cycle parts are carried forward from the R15. However, there are rumours suggesting that Yamaha might be using some new components specially developed for the MT-15. 

The MT-15 makes 19bhp at 10,000rpm, which is same as the YZF-R15. The document didn’t reveal the torque figure, but it will be 14.7Nm at 8500rpm. This 155cc motor will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. But expect the MT-15 to get revised gear ratios. 

The gross vehicle weight (GVW) of the MT-15 is 288kg. The MT-15 gets a longer wheelbase at 1335mm, and is also wider than the R15 at 800mm. The length and height of the MT-15 stands at 2020mm and 1070mm respectively. Just like in the YZF-R15, the MT-15 is likely to get the dual-channel ABS. 

The 2019 MT-15 ABS will be launched in the next few weeks, and will rival the recently launched KTM 125 Duke. This entry-level MT series is likely to bring in more customers for Yamaha, and help them grow their premium segment.
