Hero MotoCorp has officially announced the name of its limited-edition, Karizma XMR-based motorcycle that was unveiled at the Hero World 2024 earlier this year. Made in honour of Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal’s 101st birth anniversary, it will be called the Centennial.
The motorcycle will be limited to just 100 units and all of them will be sold through an auction to Hero’s employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders. Interestingly, the accumulated amount from selling the bikes will be utilised for social welfare. Deliveries of the motorcycles will commence in September 2024.
Although the Centennial shares its engine and chassis with the Karizma XMR, most of the other components are much more upmarket than the stock bike. Some of its body panels are made up of carbon fibre while the handlebar, handlebar mount, triple clamp, and footpegs are machined and anodised. Its 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are suspended by fully-adjustable, gas-charged, monoshock from Wilbers and 43mm upside-down forks with compression and rebound adjustability.
While the 210cc, liquid-cooled engine is the same as the Karizma, the exhaust gases are emitted out of the carbon fibre and titanium exhaust system sourced from Akrapovic. Enhancing its exclusivity further is a single seat with a carbon fibre pillion seat cowl and milled aluminium numbered badging on the side covers. Lastly, with a kerb weight of 158kg, the Centennial is 5.5kg lighter than the stock Karizma XMR.
