Suzuki India is set to expand its product portfolio soon with the V-Strom 800DE. Two test mules of this upcoming ADV were spotted testing in Gurgaon and these spy shots have revealed plenty of details.
The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will be the successor to the 650cc model currently on sale. It’ll feature a vertically stacked LED headlight topped by a transparent visor, a beak below it, a wide handlebar with a guard, and a single-piece seat. The V-Strom 800DE will also come with a top box and pannier mounts to make the most of its touring capabilities.
Powering the upcoming V-Strom 800DE will be a 776cc, twin-cylinder motor with an output rated at 83bhp and 78Nm. It will be linked to a six-speed gearbox and come nestled in a steel frame. The setup will be suspended on Showa USD front forks and a rear monoshock, both fully adjustable. Further, the braking hardware will include twin front discs and a single rear disc mounted on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels combo shod in Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres.
The list of features on the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will comprise LED illumination, a five-inch TFT, traction control, ride-by-wire, low RPM assist, a bi-directional quickshifter, ABS, ride modes, and more.
We expect Suzuki India to debut the bike close to the end of this year with an asking price of around Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it’ll have the Triumph Tiger 900 and the BMW F850 GS as its rivals.
