- Spotted testing in Pune
- Likely to be powered by a 296cc, parallel-twin engine
- Could get spoke wheels with tubed tyres
The upcoming Kawasaki Versys X 300 has been spotted testing for the first time. We have seen the test mule in person and learned quite a few things about its design. Here is what we expect from the upcoming Kawasaki adventure bike.
The Kawasaki Versys X 300 is already on sale in the international market. The test bike seen here has the same design and bodywork as the one sold overseas. It is equipped with a single pod headlight with a transparent visor above. Then, the bike has long tank extensions that also cover the radiator guard.
Kawasaki is likely to use the same 296cc parallel-twin cylinder engine in the Versys X 300 as it does for the Ninja 300. For reference, the Ninja makes 39bhp and 26.1Nm and the engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. You can expect the same figures from the Kawasaki Versys X 300 too.
Its list of features could comprise bulb illumination throughout, dual-channel ABS, and a side-stand cut-off sensor. The hardware seen on the Versys X 300 includes telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Then, the braking hardware comprises a front and rear disc mounted on spoke wheels wrapped in tube tyres.
In the US, the Kawasaki Versys X 300 is priced at USD 6,199 (approximately Rs. 5.14 lakh sans taxes). We think it could retail at a slightly lower asking price here in India.
