The Suzuki Access 125 is the third highest-selling scooter in the Indian market. The manufacturer sold 26,959 units of its bestselling scooter in December 2017; a 65 per cent growth over the 16,304 units sold in the same time in 2016.
The scooter’s sales numbers were just below the Honda Activa and the TVS Jupiter. However, it is unusual for a 125cc scooter to get a spot in the top three highest selling scooters. The Access 125 could credit its sales numbers to its peppy engine that offers a linear torque band along with a comfortable seating position.
The Suzuki Access 125 sports a design language that would appeal to a large audience. It is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine which delivers 8.6bhp and 10.2Nm of torque, through a CVT transmission. It delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 64kmpl.
It is priced at Rs 56,716 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and directly rivals the Activa 125, and the Aprilia SR 150. However, the scooter recently got a competitor in Honda’s premium scooter offering, the Grazia.
