Suzuki recently took the wraps off an all-new scooter called the Saluto 125. The scooter shares most of its underpinning with the Access 125 which is sold in India. While the Saluto 125 is only expected to make its way to the country by 2021, we bring to you details of the scooter through an image gallery.
The Saluto 125 sports a completely new design that has been inspired by retro scooters from Italy. However, the edgy lines all through its bodywork give the Saluto 125 a modern appeal. To keep the Saluto 125 in tune with its retro theme, Suzuki has garnished the scooter with chrome on its mirrors, brake lever, grabrail and front apron.
It comes with a full-LED headlamp mounted on the steering cowl and a pair of aggressively styled LED DRLs on the front apron. The Saluto also boasts of LED turn signals and a uniquely-designed LED tail lamp.
Speaking of features, the Saluto 125 is equipped with a semi-digital instrument console that features an analogue speedometer. The information on the console can be toggled via the right switchgear.
It also comes with keyless ignition and an external fuel-filler cap on the front apron, Interestingly, the Suzuki Saluto’s fuel tank is fitted below the floorboard giving the scooter a low centre of gravity for better handling.
The scooter shares its 124cc, single-cylinder engine with the Access 125. However, the motor on the Saluto produces a higher, 9.2bhp of power while the torque remains the same at 10.2Nm.
Braking hardware consists of a disc-drum setup meanwhile suspension is taken care of by telescopic forks for the front and a dual-shock setup at the rear. The Saluto 125 rides on 10-inch alloy wheels at both ends shod with wide tyres.
