Suzuki is aiming to sell one lakh units of the Gixxer siblings in the Indian market, through the current financial year. Inspired by the success of the naked Gixxer, Suzuki recently launched the fully-faired version of the premium 155cc motorcycle, called the Gixxer SF at Rs 83,889 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Gixxer SF comes with an aerodynamic full-fairing which improves the motorcycle’s touring abilities, besides supplementing its aesthetic appeal. It is targeted at urban users who are looking for a stylish commuter motorcycle which can double up as a tourer for occasional long rides. It is built around the same single downtube frame from the naked Gixxer and is powered by the 155cc single-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 14.6bhp and 14Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission.
Suzuki’s current annual sales for the last fiscal year stand at 3.74 lakh units and the Japanese manufacturer aims to boost this number up to five lakh units for the current year. The naked Gixxer has already managed to clock 45,000 units in domestic sales in a short span of just seven months. If the success of the Gixxer is anything to go by, we are sure that Suzuki will easily be able to meet its target of one lakh units by the end of the next financial year.
