Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has announced the 'Gixxer Cup' for the Indian racing arena. SMIPL is a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, and it will conduct the one make championship race in India this year.
The company will conduct the race from June 2015 till October 2015. Two championship races will be held. The one for beginners will be in the 'Novice' category and the one for seasoned riders will run in the 'Open' category. Suzuki will provide a full grid of 20, race-prepared Gixxer SF motorcycles for five rounds of racing. These rounds will take place in conjunction with the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai. These motorcycles will be backed by a dedicated team of experts and pit crew to support the riders.

The Gixxer Cup championship is approved by the FMSCI (The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) and organised by the Madras Motor Sports Club (one of the oldest and most active motorsports clubs in the country). Suzuki plans to lay the foundation of their global racing culture in India through this one make championship race and set new standards in One Make Racing. These races will help promote motorsport racing culture in India and nurture the passion of enthusiasts.
