Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced the new Avenis 125 in the scooter segment of our market to compete against the likes of TVS Ntorq 125 and Honda Grazia 125. This new scooter from Suzuki Motorcycle India draws heavy styling inspiration from the Ntorq 125 and it aims to attract young buyers in the country. In this article, we bring you the best images from the Suzuki Avenis 125 road test review.
As mentioned before, the new Suzuki Avenis 125 has an uncanny resemblance to the TVS Ntorq 125. However, it isn’t an exact replica, and the scooter from the Japanese brand gets a sharper design for the handlebar cowl, distinctive styling for the headlight, and a twin-pod taillight.
The MotoGP-inspired livery on the Race Edition further enhances the styling and make the Avenis 125 look more desirable. This special livery brings a blue base paint along with Suzuki branding on the body panel, footboard panels, and on the front apron.
Other styling elements include a dual-tone seat cover, split-style pillion grab rails, and an external fuel filler cap.
The feature list is at par with the TVS Ntorq 125 as well, and the Avenis 125 comes with an LED headlight and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster. The Bluetooth connectivity brings access to the turn-by-turn navigation function, call alerts, and phone battery percentage.
Storage solutions on the Avenis 125 include 21.5-litre underseat storage, a front glove box with a USB charger, and a bottle holder.
The mechanical specifications include a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that delivers 8.58bhp of power and 10Nm of peak torque. While the power output is lower than the Ntorq 125, this Suzuki scooter packs a lighter kerb weight. The engine feels refined, too, and there are no vibrations even at higher speeds.
The suspension setup is tuned for a plush ride quality and the Avenis 125 irons out most surface undulations. However, due to the soft suspension setup, the rear tends to move around at speeds past 70kmph.
The braking tasks are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back while the safety net comprises a combined braking system.
So, is the Suzuki Avenis 125 a sporty scooter? You can read all about it in our detailed road test review or watch the video below.
