- To be powered by all-new 180cc motor
- Will draw design cues from the basic concept of the Burgman 400
- Likely to use underpinnings from the Burgman 200
The Suzuki Burgman Street is a maxi-styled scooter offering that has garnered a positive demand in the Indian two-wheeler market. Now, rumours have started emerging on the internet, hinting that the Japanese two-wheeler giant is working on a bigger model with a higher displacement of 180cc.
In the international market, Suzuki sells a total of four variants of the Burgman with different engine displacements including the 125cc, 200cc, 400cc and the flagship 650cc, also known as the Executive. Notably, Suzuki does not have a 180cc model in its entire line-up which further suggests that an all-new 180cc engine may be in the offing.
In terms of design, the 180 is expected to receive an all-new design language which will be different from the existing Burgman models. Expect the scooter to draw design cues from the basic concept of the Burgman 400. Besides that, since Suzuki has already sold the Burgman 200 sold in the international market and the Burgman 125 in India, expect the Burgman 180 to share its underpinnings with these two scooters.
As far as cycle parts are concerned, the scooter is likely to feature telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic monoshock at the rear. Braking will be taken care of by disc brakes at both ends equipped with ABS.
All things considered, if the rumours turn out to be true, expect Suzuki to unveil the scooter sometime next year.
