- Looks identical to the current petrol-powered counterpart
- Gets dual rear springs for better weight management
- Seems production ready and could be launched soon
The EV market in India is gradually and evidently flourishing with a lot of new and old names wanting a piece of the pie. Suzuki too is in the race and its upcoming electric scooter, the Burgman Electric has been spotted testing, again.
There have been numerous sightings of the Burgman Electric before this and it now seems to be heading closer to the production stage. It looks identical to the petrol-powered model and gets the same body work as well.
While the motor and battery specifications are yet to be revealed, the visual and mechanical deets are evident from the test mule. It gets a rear-wheel mounted motor. Since there could be a notable weight difference (given the weight of the battery and motor), Suzuki has equipped the Burgman Electric with twin rear shocks instead of a monoshock.
All said and done, some details like the battery type (fixed or swappable), launch date, price and subsidy availability are yet to be uncovered. But the wait shouldn’t be too long and we expect Suzuki to make an official announcement soon.
