- Suzuki Burgman Electric could be launched by 2022
- Gets the same styling as the Burgman Street
- Will compete against the Bajaj Chetak
Suzuki has been testing the Burgman Electric for a while now and the scooter has been spotted once again. It is expected to make its debut sometime by 2022 in India.
The Burgman Electric like its name suggests is based on Burgman Street and gets the same bodywork. So the front end consists of a full-LED headlamp and a large windscreen while the rear sports a sleek design similar to the bigger Burgman 600. Now, when it comes it the visuals, the Burgman Electric will not only differentiate itself with the badging but also the colours it comes with. The test mule, for instance, sported a white paint with blue accents on the front and side panels. However, there is no word about the scooter's technical details or the features it is expected to come with.
The Burgman Street is one of Suzuki’s most popular models only second to the Access 125. It also caters to this growing niche of buyers wanting maxi-scooters. And this platform as well as styling will play to the Burgman Electric’s advantage as the market currently does not have an electric maxi-scooter and its rivals will be the retro-styled Bajaj Chetak and the futuristic-looking Ather 450X and TVS iQube.
