- Suzuki Burgman Street spied testing once again
- Clearer spy shots emerge
- Will compete against the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube
Suzuki is prepping to introduce an electric two-wheeler in the Indian market, which was confirmed after the spy shots of the Burgman Street electric version had surfaced last month. Due to being shot from a considerable distance, the test mules weren’t clearly discernible back then. However, clearer spy shots of the electric scooter have now surfaced online, giving us a closer look at it.
The absence of the exhaust in these test mules is a clear indicator of them being electrified versions of the Burgman Street 125. Moreover, as was pointed out before, the rear monoshock on these scooters is placed on the right side, as opposed to the left-mounted spring in their petrol-powered counterpart. Another change comes in the form of a new white paint scheme with a blue stripe running around its handlebar cowl and across the under seat panel.
In all other areas, the Burgman Street electric is identical to its conventional iteration. It sports the same maxi styling with a bulbous front apron housing LED headlamp and a curvaceous tail section with LED tail lamp. We expect the instrument cluster of the e-scooter to be more modern and informative, as is the norm amongst EVs. Meanwhile, the combination of 12-10-inch wheels with a front disc has remained unaltered.
Although the technical specifications of this scooter haven’t emerged yet, it is likely to be on par with 110cc petrol scooters in terms of performance. The riding range might also be impressive. Expect Suzuki to launch the Burgman Street electric sometime next year and it will go up against the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
