Just a few days ago, we put out the news about Suzuki’s plan to launch a new scooter in India. And now, the Burgman Street scooter has been snapped in India, making us believe that Suzuki India will introduce this scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The Burgman range comprises of premium maxi-scooters that are sold in developed markets. But just like it did with Gixxer and Intruder, Suzuki plans to use the Burgman brand name for a scooter developed specifically for India. The Burgman scooters are known for its premium styling. From the images, it’s clear that the Burgman Street does have a bit of maxi-scooter inspiration. The spied scooter is seen with a windscreen that also covers a bit of the front apron. The handlebar doesn’t have an integrated headlamp unit. In fact, there’s no instrument cluster on the handlebar either. The instrument cluster is expected to be placed between the handlebar and the windscreen. In order to give it a premium feel, the scooter is fitted with a 3D Burgman logo.
Currently, there is no information on the specifications but the scooter can either be powered by a 125cc or a 150cc motor. Interestingly, the company had imported a 125cc Burgman scooter in 2015 for research and development purposes. We’re expecting Suzuki to position the Burgman Street above the Access 125. In fact, we won’t be surprised if it is priced close to the Aprilia SR150.
