- Based on the Suzuki Access 125
- Powered by 8.4bhp 125cc engine
- Expected to be priced around Rs 70,000
Suzuki will launch the Burgman Street in India on 19 July. Although it is based on the Access 125, the Burgman Street gets the trendy styling similar to European maxi-scooters.
The Burgman Street borrows its name from the Burgman, a 640cc maxi-scooter sold in several global markets. It even borrows major styling cues from its elder sibling. The sharp front apron gets an LED headlamp setup and turn indicators along with a transparent windscreen on top. The digital instrument cluster has been borrowed from the Gixxer.
At the heart of the Burgman Street is the same 124cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 8.4bhp and 10.2Nm of torque. It rides on telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. It rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. It also comes with a disc brake at the front, with combi-brakes offered as standard.
The Access 125 has become the top money-spinner for Suzuki. While the conservative and elegant design has been one of the highlights of this scooter, there has also been increase in demand for trendy 125cc scooters like the TVS Ntorq, Aprilia SR 125 and the Honda Grazia. The Burgman Street will share the segment with these three scooters, and is expected to retail at around Rs 70,000.
