Having established its hold in the 125cc family scooter segment, Suzuki will now be targeting the youth with its new scooter, the Burgman Street. First shown at the 2018 Auto Expo, it will go on sale on 19 July. Here is what you can expect from the Suzuki Burgman Street -
LED lamps
The Burgman Street is the first Suzuki two-wheeler to feature an LED headlamp. Apart from promising better illumination than a regular halogen bulb, the LED headlamp gives the Burgman Street a premium appeal. It also gets LED position lamps and tail lamp.
Digital console
The instrument cluster gets a full digital display. Although it might look identical to the one on the Gixxer, the Burgman Street’s display gets a different layout. It integrates a speedometer, fuel gauge, clock, oil-change indicator, odometer and dual trip meters.
Easy start
The Burgman Street gets a unique function, called as the Easy Start system. This system fires up the engine with just one press of the starter button, instead of keeping the button pressed till the bike actually starts up. It is rare to see such a feature in mass-market two-wheelers, and the KTM RC390 is the only other budget bike to feature it.
Front glove box with USB charger
The Burgman Street isn’t short of practical features either. There are two storage compartments at the front to hold your nick-knacks. The one to the left also has a lid and a DC power socket. You can get an optional USB charger in place of the power socket. Then there are two storage hooks in the front bay. The underseat storage has a 21.5 litre capacity and can hold a full-face helmet.
Access 125 platform
The Access 125 is one of our favourite scooters. It not only is very convenient and comfortable, but also fun to ride. The 124cc engine makes it very quick without compromising on the fuel efficiency. The combination of the Access 125’s underpinnings and the European styling should make the Burgman Street a very attractive proposition. However, it will be quite expensive, with a price tag of around Rs 81,000 (on-road).
