Suzuki celebrated the inaugural Hayabusa Day across eight cities in the country on August 21. Conducted in Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad, this ride was organised to promote riding culture among owners of the iconic Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa.
The Hayabusa Day is an annual celebratory day observed in Japan, which acts as a platform for the owners of the motorcycle to converge and share their passion for motorcycling. This is the first time that Suzuki has organised this event in India. Owners of Hayabusa convened and rode together on the occasion as a celebration of this iconic motorcycle. Riders were also given memorabilia to mark the occasion.
While manufacturers like Harley-Davidson, Ducati and Indian have been conducting such rides and events in India, this is the first time Suzuki has taken such an initiative. The Hayabusa enjoys a cult status among motorcycling enthusiasts worldwide, thanks to the impact it made when it first arrived in 1999. Through the 'Hayabusa Day' Suzuki is planning to increase brand awareness among the Indian audience. The Japanese manufacturer recently started local assembly of the Hayabusa which was followed by a price cut of over Rs 2 lakh.
Speaking about the Hayabusa Day, Satoshi Uchida, MD, SMIPL said, "The 'Hayabusa Day' celebrates the passion and spirit of owning and riding this legendary motorcycle and will instil a sense of pride and exclusivity among Hayabusa owners. We intend to make this an annual tradition to promote the Big Bike Culture and the cult following of the Hayabusa among Indian riders."
