If you wish to introduce your young ones to the sport of motorcycles soon, Suzuki has just the thing for you. The Japanese bike maker has expanded its off-road line-up by launching the DR-Z50 mini-bike in India. Priced at Rs 2.55 lakhs ex-showroom, the DR-Z50 is designed for young rookie riders to build their confidence and improve their riding abilities at an early stage.
The MX-styled mini bike is powered by a 49cc single-pot 4-stroke motor equipped with an electric starter and a three-speed transmission coupled to an automatic clutch. The motor has a controllable power band while the power output can also be adjusted to let the young rider can learn at an ideal pace.
The DR-Z50 has a low seat height of 560mm and ground clearance of 135mm which should allow young riders to comfortably handle the mini-bike. The bike’s kerb weight stands at 54 kg. For cycle parts, the mini-bike features inverted forks up front and an oil-damped coil spring monoshock at the back. The mini-bike rides with 10-inch spoke wheels shod with tube-type knobby tyres and drum brakes at both ends.
