Suzuki has filed patents for the Extrigger motorcycle that will be competing with the cool Honda Grom and the Kawasaki Z125 Pro. However, the Suzuki one is little different because it’s electric.
The Extrigger concept that Suzuki showed in 2013 is close to being a real production motorcycle. The Japanese manufacturer has figured that there’s a market for such bikes, considering the fact that the Grom and the Z125 Pro have found a good amount of fan following.
Suzuki wanted to keep the Extrigger as an electric bike because of the nature of such motorcycles – in-city ride, short sprint to a store or maybe grabbing a cup of coffee in the next block. And with these aspects, Suzuki will also contribute to Nature by going electric.
We’re expecting the Extrigger to make its way to the production line in the next year or so but it’ll never come to India. Why? Because, there’s no market right now, at least not for an electric one.
